Little Ease

I just finished up a pullover for Bug.  I was asked to test knit Abate by Alicia Plummer.  Since I knit the adult version this was a breeze.  If only all sweaters could be knit with the speed of a size 2T.

It's a great sweater for little ones.  It has the warmth of a sweater with the comfort of a sweatshirt.  Added bonus - room to grow!  The sleeves roll up and it's written with positive ease in the pattern.

I knit this using Quince & Co Lark in the Lupine color.  It's a really nice blue-purple.  It brings out the violet in Bug's eyes.  I love Lark.  It has a springiness that has to be seen.  It's affordable and American made.  Not to mention they have a great color palette.

Abate took me about 5 days to knit.  I always seem to get hung up on the sleeves and this was no exception.  I will say I knit about 1 and a half sleeves today alone. In worsted weight, the body is knit on size 10s.  There are two collar options, same with the adult version.  The 2T takes less than 450 yards!

And I managed to finish just in time for the Business Casual KAL over at Kelly's.  I decided to go with my Tanis Fiber Arts Purple Label.  It's actually the yarn used in the pattern.  I got it a few years ago in a Valentine Kit from Simply Sock Yarn.  The color is Silver Plume and it is a nice shade of silver with purple throughout.  I wound it today and am ready to go come February 4th!

  1. Love the new blog look!

And the sweater is awesome in both the grown-up and child size. Bug is getting so big, how have I not seen her in so long? And those eyes - oh my! Poor Ian in about 13 years ;)!

    1. Probably because I was a mean mommy and didn't have a birthday party. But that's no excuse since you live a block away. ;)
